Maryellen Ford is a graduate of Richview Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, where she was a member of the school orchestra and band. Mrs. Ford received her A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto in 1985.

Mrs. Ford attended the University of Toronto where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1986. Upon graduation she attended the Faculty of Education at University of Toronto where she received her teaching certificate in Music Education in 1987. She began her music teaching career at Malvern Collegiate in Toronto, where she was a member of the Music Department until 1989. Mrs. Ford moved to Port Credit Secondary School of the Peel District School Board, where she became the Department Head of Music in 1995. Mrs. Ford lead a dynamic and thriving music program at Port Credit S. S., which includes keyboard classes, junior and senior bands, stage bands, vocal groups, orchestras and string groups.

Mrs. Ford has taught night school beginner level "Piano Techniques" for the Center for Education and Training of the Peel District School Board. She teaches private lessons out of her home to children and adults of all ages.
